BELOW ARE EXAMPLES OF OUR ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY INITIATIVES:

We recycle all paper, cardboard, glass, plastic products, cooking oil, light bulbs and etc

We offer to guests to have their towels and bed linen washed only as required

We started our big project – KITCHEN GARDEN – to grow our own produce

We use eco-friendly 100% naked sprout renewable and biodegradable toilet paper in our rooms

We use local wood from Galashiels for the rooms’ new furniture

We use hygienic and disposable paper bath mats in our bathrooms

We are very lucky to have natural spring water which is served in washable water jags. Any mineral water in glass bottles is recycled

We started using external local rental laundry, which helps reduce water and energy consumption

We don’t use plastic straws anymore

We replaced all our boilers in the building to more energy efficient contemporary ones

We started using refillable dispensing bottles for toiletries in the toilets and bathrooms

‘Save the Trees’: we have incorporated a lot of local information and attractions on our website to cut down the use of printed brochures and leaflets.

80% of the ingredients we use are local produce, a further 17% are from rest of the UK and 3% are from other European countries. You can find a short list of our local produce here.
